Peter Hughes Diving: The Wind Dancer

December 09- 16, 2006

Just a few miles northeast off the coast of Venezuela, lies the island nation of Trinidad and Tobago.  The smaller of the islands is Tobago which straddles the border of the Caribbean and Atlantic oceans.  Due to Tobago's unique geographic location, the tiny island is surrounded by nutrient rich water that feeds some of the most prolific coral formations in the Caribbean.  Feeding on Tobago's vast coral reefs is abundant aquatic life that will impress any diver and underwater photographer.  Tobago's best dive sites are close to shore but spread out across the northern coast of the island which makes the island an ideal location for live-aboard diving.  The charter for our dive trip to Tobago will be the Wind Dancer of Peter Hughes Diving's Dancer Fleet.  I stayed on the Wind Dancer in January 2005 and dove with Peter Hughes, the owner and founder of Peter Hughes Diving.  Peter Hughes grew up in Tobago and fulfilled a life long dream when he brought the Wind Dancer to offer dive charters in Tobago on the same reefs he grew up diving.  My first hand experience on the Wind Dancer was all positive which is primary reason we are returning again to dive the prolific reefs of Tobago aboard this impressive ship.  The diving is the best that I have seen in the Caribbean, the island of Tobago is full of "unspoiled" adventure and the Wind Dancer amenities and staff are first class.  All of these reasons make our Tobago trip a must stop on your 2006 calendar.
