Fantastic Endeavors SCUBA Newsletter July 2007 July 4th Weekend Memories: Greetings from Key Largo!! July 4th is not the same without a long weekend. Instead we have two busy dive weekends here the Keys and reason to barbecue and party mid week. Some of my local friends from the Miami Ski Club came down for the first weekend to attend a snorkel-champagne sunset sail Saturday afternoon aboard the Reef Roamer and to attend the infamous Full Moon Party at Morada Bay in Islamorda on Saturday night. A party on the beach with a few hundred people and some pre- 4th of July fireworks was a great way to end a beautiful afternoon on the water. Some of friends stayed overnight for early morning dives with Ocean Divers in Key Largo. Sunday morning made for some excellent dives both on the reefs in Key Largo and some of the group had a spectacular dive on the Speigel Grove. A big thank you goes out to Barry Kulick, a professional marine life photographer and Miami Ski Club member, who took the amazing underwater shots that are shown below. My pictures and the some more of Barry's shots can be seen in the weekend photo gallery linked below. Also in this month's newsletter is your last chance to signup for our late summer Grenada and The Grenadines eastern Caribbean dive trip. We only have a few more spots left and we close booking on the Grenada trip by July 25th. Read more about the trip below. Miami Ski Club: Key Largo Weekend June-July 2007 Photo Gallery Last Chance to Dive the Largest Shipwreck in the Caribbean: Grenada September 1-8, 2007 The 660 foot Italian luxury liner Bianca C caught fire and sank in 1961 just off the coast of Grenada and within recreational diving depths. Diving the Bianca C is one of the most unforgettable experiences and a must stop while diving around Grenada. Join the Miami Ski Club for a late summer exotic dive trip to the Eastern Caribbean. Grenada and The Grenadines are in the Windward Islands chain that are most famous for attracting sailboats from around the world. There are only a handful of local island operators who dive the Grenadines so most dive sites are near uncharted territory with pristine coral and abundant aquatic life. The Wind Dancer is a 128 foot luxury yacht designed solely for dive charters. You eat, sleep and dive right from the boat. Every night the Wind Dancer anchors in a safe harbor tucked in a behind a different uninhabited or lightly inhabited island. We will visit exotic islands of the Grenadines from St. Vincent to Grenada including Bequia, Mustique, Canauon, Tobago Cays, Isle de Rhonde and Carricou. On our dives you will see pristine colorful coral reefs with 80-100 feet of visibility. The aquatic life in the Grenadines includes Nurse Sharks, Spotted Moray Eels, Turtles, Puffer Fish, Lobster, Spotted Drums and more. Our group will get in plenty of dives during this trip and after every dive on the Wind Dancer, each diver is greeted with a hot snack, warm showers and hot towels to enjoy the surface interval while the crew fills the dive tanks. Liveaboard diving is the ultimate in dive experience. REDUCED PACKAGE PRICE: All-Inclusive package price is $2310.00 with airfare from Fort Lauderdale on Air Jamaica. Pricing is based on double occupancy and includes, all meals and beverages (including well brands of alcoholic), airport transfers, five and ½ days of diving up to five dives a day, other standard Dancer fleet amenities, plus port charge of $65 and fuel surcharge of $100 are all included.
