Exotic Eastern Caribbean Dive Trip aboard the Wind Dancer September 1-8, 2007
Join the Miami Ski Club for an exotic dive trip to the Eastern Caribbean. Grenada and The Grenadines are in the Windward Islands which are most famous for attracting sailboats from around the world. There are only a handful of local island operators who dive the Grenadines so most dive sites are near uncharted territory with pristine coral and abundant aquatic life. The Wind Dancer is a 128 foot luxury yacht designed solely for dive charters. You eat, sleep and dive right from the boat. Every night the Wind Dancer anchors in a safe harbor tucked in a behind a different uninhabited or lightly inhabited island. After every dive, each diver is greeted with a hot snack, warm showers and hot towels to enjoy the surface interval while the crew fills the dive tanks..
PACKAGE: All-Inclusive package price is $2360.00 with airfare from Fort Lauderdale on Air Jamaica. Pricing is based on double occupancy and includes, all meals and beverages (including well brands of alcoholic), airport transfers, five and ½ days of diving up to five dives a day, other standard Dancer fleet amenities, plus port charge of $65 and fuel surcharge of $100, pre-trip party, banquet, admission to Springfest, post-trip party, are all included. The package does not include rental gear or Friday night dinner on land in Grenada. One master stateroom is available for a $200.00 per person upgrade for two spaces. You must be a new or renewed member of the Miami Ski Club to join our Grenada trip.

Oceanblue Divers Brings "Sharkwater" to Manhattan
Oceanblue Divers, New York City’s largest and fastest-growing dive club, will host a special screening of the award-winning documentary Sharkwater on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 as a fundraiser for the Shark Research Institute. The evening will begin at 7:00 p.m. at AMC EWalk Theater – Times Square with a brief introduction by director and star Rob Stewart, and the screening will be followed by a private after-party at HOME – 532 West 27 St. in Manhattan.
The screening gives New Yorkers a sneak peek at Sharkwater months before its September 2007 U.S. release. The documentary, which starkly exposes the exploitation and corruption decimating 100 million sharks annually, has already broken Canadian box office records and to date has won 14 film festival awards; most recently, the Grand Jury award for best feature at the New York Gen Art Film Festival earlier this month. Stewart will also be in New York the night before this screening as a nominee for the Shark Research Institute’s Peter Benchley Shark Conservation Award.
Advance tickets for the event are available for $25, with a portion of net proceeds donated to the Shark Research Institute. The ticket price includes admission to both the screening and after-party. Buy at sharkwater.eventbrite.com
